Yesterday was one day i really thank God for.
To think that we were at PIE at the very same time this happened.
The new paper today mentioned that 2 MPVs on the opposite lane were hit by the flying precast block. They suffered punctured tyres and broken rims.
Imagine if it hit Selin's mum's car. I don't even dare to think. Nor will i be able to explain how the damage was gotten.
Was telling the girls who hitched our ride after CG yesterday about how fortunate we were. And apparently Stacey didn't understand until i talked to her. LOL.
And the very same accident caused my 1h15min journey home to extend to 2 hours, even with taking the cab home from Kallang, after i alighted bus 985. Thankfully the meter showed no midnight surcharge. Haha.
Oh wells, like my title says, we really owe our existence today to divine intervention. But the images of the crushed van i saw last night will still haunt me for a while to come...
I'll tell my friends who drive to keep a clear distance from trailers carrying precast blocks. Stay as far away as you can. You never know what's going to happen next.
Thank God, he survived with back pain. Thank God that he survived.
