Sat:
arrived at lin lin's house at 12-ish, after i settled some stuff and topped up my tank at office, hence losing my lil wager with lin lin (she bet that i would surely go back to settle my work & it was for a wager of lunch). Had collected her cake at 11-ish after work, and stayed downstairs to write her card (which i thought i wrote alot of incoherent stuff, thanks to late nights, hurr)
We had mee suah for lunch (thankfully there wasn't the 10 quail eggs in my share), and then cut the cake i got for her. It was pretty nice, but somehow i just thought that the royal truffle i got her 2 years ago might beat it just by a nose's length. :P
We nua-ed around the house the entire afternoon before heading out, taking silly pictures and the pics of my pressie for her. (refer to her blog if u want to know what it is =)) We wanted to go for the ben & jerry's carnival at Fort Canning, but due to the extrememly lousy weather, we adjourned to Liang Court.
I can't remember if i've ever been to Liang Court before, but this is the place if you wanna go find Jap stuff. We stopped over at Meidi-ya supermarket and feasted our eyes silly over many japanese products. And yup, we did buy something home... Lin lin bought this interesting bean stalk Pocari for babies (it tasted very bland to me. LOL) while i bought pocky home. I think i remember now that the thin pocky was actually from lin lin last year! Hee... yummmm...
We had wanted to find some place at Liang Court for dinner, but the restaurants over there were absymal; they didn't whet our appetites a single bit. So the decision was made to go waraku.
When we reached waraku, there were many ppl in front of us, but thankfully we were able to get seats after 10mins of waiting. Feeling rather rich today (=P), we ordered something more than the usual curry udons we had everytime we went there. We ordered Gyu Yanagawa Wazen, Suzuran set meal, Sashimi 3 kinds and an Ika Maruyaki. To our surprise, the bill that came was actually cheaper; had we gone ahead with the plan of going kuishin bo, it would amount more than that! But the important thing was that lin lin enjoyed the meal. Hee. =*
We went over to Parkway Parade on Sunday as the roads were closed for stanchart. We walked around the place, looking for more Christmas gift exchange items. And this caught my eye.
The phone pouch i am using now has its velcro strap torn off, so i was actually trying this timbuk2 one out by placing my O2 into it, which to my delight fitted really nicely. But the price tag was a put off: $45. =/
Had wanted to buy it on the spot, but the price was a put-off, and also i wasn't sure if i'll be changing my PDA phone, so was abit hesitant.
But anyway, the good news is that i finally got a car charger for the pda phone. Say goodbye to flat batteries! =D
Things to be happy about this week:
- on leave til Thursday; 2 day work week! =D
- getting to meet lin lin for sushi on wed for lunch!
